From the outdoor fireplace to the gazebo tucked amongst the glowing aspens, the hours of enjoyment in the beautiful Colorado evenings are extended in this landscape thanks to the new life given by its landscape lighting.
It is often said that lighting sets the mood. The mood at the Lohmiller residence is always warm and inviting with this landscape lighting project. From the moment you enter the drive, to the walk around back for cocktails around the fireplace, light dances its way throughout this landscape, inviting you to explore its many wonderful details.
Mr. and Mrs. Lohmiller were overwhelmed with the challenges that their overgrown landscape presented. Their 1980’s ranch style home was bursting at the seams with junipers that seemed to be eating their house alive. An old sand box in the back corner of the yard was a reminder of days gone by since their kids had all grown up and moved on. Mrs. Lohmiller had dreams of a gazebo and sipping tea by an outdoor fireplace with friends. Mr. Lohmiller simply wanted a happy wife and so, allowed us to help them dream of a new, fresh, updated look around the entire property. With an entirely new foundation planting and the construction of a beautiful new gazebo, patio, and outdoor fireplace, the Lohmillers found that there were just not enough hours in the day to enjoy their new yard.
Landscape lighting has allowed them to extend their enjoyment and take advantage of the beautiful Colorado evenings. Guests feel comfortable long into the night as the mood continues to feel safe and warm. Up-lighting gently washes the brick walls of the architecture creating a soft, welcoming mood. The white bark of the birch trees in the front of the home reflects the light wonderfully giving new life to these mature trees. Down-lights placed in the tall Ash trees help highlight the front walk along the circle drive. Strategic placement of path lighting to the front door playfully invites you along the brick walk. Once inside, looking out the window, you capture a glimpse of the gazebo, tucked amongst the glowing aspens, hearkening you back outside where this once tired home, has come to life again.
