Class A / B CDL Driver

The Opportunity

As a Class A CDL Driver, you will be responsible for mobilizing company owned or rented equipment and materials to and from job sites in a safe manner. Snow removal operations for this position are required.  

Responsibilities

Equipment and Materials Hauling

  • Safely operate and load large equipment that needs to be mobilized such as: Skids steer, mini-excavators, mini skid steers, tracked loaders, trenchers, pullers, backhoes, etc.
  • Safely load, secure, deliver, and unload all job materials.
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are delivered to job site on schedule.
  • Perform all daily preventative maintenance on company equipment.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Administrative Paperwork

  • Complete timesheets and submit by the established deadline.
  • Complete all required DOT Driver Inspection Reports (DIR) daily.
  • Keep current Purchase Order (PO's) numbers for use at all specified vendors.
  • Turn in all invoices received upon deliveries or pick up of material.

Safety

  • Comply with all safety regulations, both statutory and policies established by Designscapes Colorado.
  • Inspect the work environment, vehicle or equipment to verify that no hazardous conditions exist.
  • Attend all company safety, driver safety and CPR trainings yearly.

Snow Removal

  • During winter months, must be available 24/7 to assist in removing snow from various commercial sites.
  • Submit completed snow removal logs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience preferred.
  • Must have valid Class A CDL and clean MVR.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of construction techniques.
  • Physically able to handle the work load of a construction leadman and/or landscape technician.
  • Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of the limitations of the specific types of construction equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, management, planning and motivation skills.
  • Ability to work under moderately high stress situations.
  • Tremendous presence of mind in case of accidents.
  • A sound knowledge about safety measures.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Moderately undesirable working conditions. The position may be required to work weekends (Saturday/Sunday) or late at night. Must be flexible with availability depending on the needs of the customers.
