Designscapes Colorado supports continuing education and training for all team members in every division of our organization.

We feel that a well trained and highly educated work force is key to the success of the company and most beneficial to our customers.  Designscapes has provided numerous career progression opportunities and listed below are just a few.

 

2016 Site One University Denver

Designscapes staff attended the Site One University trade show held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Convention Center, January 21, 2016.  This event offered green industry professionals access to substantive training and informational seminars.  The event consists of educational seminars and a vendor trade show that gave participants the opportunity to grow, learn and network with their peers.

All the courses were CEU approved by the National Association of Landscape Professional (NALP), Irrigation Association (IA) and the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA.)  Team members in attendance were Art Archuleta, Char Farley Chacon, Oscar Chacon, Juan Cruz, Reggie Cooper, Garrett Holmes, Misael Ibarra, Sergio Ibarra, Gabriel Leon, Josh McLean, Jeremy Sanders, Jeff Sliter, John Stewart and Ismael Viurquez.

 

 

Premier Rocky Mountain Regional Industry Experience

The entire Designscapes staff was encouraged to attend the 2016 Pro Green Expo held February 9-12, 2016 at the Colorado Convention Center.

Training classes ranged in Landscape Management and Design, Human Resources, Social Media Marketing and Maintenance.

It was an ideal event for networking, gaining industry knowledge and keeping up to date on current irrigation and horticulture emerging trends.

 

Microsoft Project 2016

The Designscapes Commercial Division received in-depth training from Webucator who provided a private instructor to improve their current knowledge of Microsoft Project.  Microsoft Project is an industry standard scheduling software used to track the progress of construction projects.

The advanced level of training they received allows them the ability to fully utilize the program for budgets tracking, resources allocation, and tracking man-hours/materials cost.

The curriculum provided efficient management practices, how to properly create and track master schedules and sub projects, how to create and customize visual report as well as learning advanced formatting features of the Gantt chart and network diagrams. Team member in attendance were:

Tom Brownfield, Reggie Cooper (Residential Project Manager), Mark Demrovsky, Doug Gibb, Dirk Gruber, Cheryl Porter, Chris Stone, and Jackie Wilson.
