I was thinking – why not take the kids to the park today?  In fact, I know a great new park that opened last year in Castle Pines called Elk Ridge Park.  Elk Ridge Park covers 15 acres of recreational and open space and is Castle Pine’s first city park.

Designscapes Colorado installed this park in 2011 and has recently been awarded two awards for the park construction and the wall construction at the park’s promenade by the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado (ALCC).

The Promenade at Elk Ridge Park is the focal point of the park.  It is both large in-scale and handcrafted in detail.  Some of the elements associated with this space are artificial ruins, hieroglyphics, slides and boulders to climb on.

This park is really, a top-notch park that both kids and adults will enjoy.  Play elements range from an incredibly fun playground to walking trails.  Children will love the learning pods and the water elements they can play in during the warmer months.  A multi-functional full synthetic turf field allows for football, soccer, baseball and other field games.  Elk Ridge Park has multiple areas or “outdoor rooms” that provide numerous places for picnicking, shelter or personal respite.

The dramatic topography of the park reflects the natural setting of Castle Pines and provides visitors spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.  Elk Ridge Park is truly a public park, offering a little something for everyone.  See you there!
