The Great Pumpkin Haul

Picture this: It’s a brisk, beautiful fall morning, you have your best running gear on and you are feeling great. You can feel the earth beneath your feet and can taste ….. pumpkin? Why would you be tasting pumpkin you ask? Because your attending the Great Pumpkin Haul at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield!

The Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield are hosting the Great Pumpkin Haul on October 20th at 9:30 a.m. The haul begins at the pumpkin patch where you can pick out any pumpkin you would like. But be careful about which pumpkin you choose because after choosing your pumpkin, you must run with it for two miles. The two mile course takes you through the botanic gardens, over hay bails, and through a dense forest.

If you are feeling especially strong and brave you can try for the double pumpkin solo carry! There is a special prize for the person who snags the heaviest pumpkin! The pumpkin is included in the registration fee. After the race you can relax and recuperate while enjoying live music, cider, pumpkin beer, and a corn maze. The Great Pumpkin Haul is a great event for all ages! So come on down to the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield and get ready to race!
