Looking for a great summer project to do with (or without!) the kids? Making garden step stones is a great way to personalize any yard! You can make a bunch of them and create a path, great to get to the garden hose, and much more.
Phil will bring materials and a couple of examples and Bertha will demonstrate the fun and how easy it is to make one of these. You can buy a pre-packaged kit at your local craft store for around $20 but, you can buy your own materials and the price per stone is much cheaper!
- Materials needed:
- Step stone mold (like a plastic plant saucer, small pizza box or an old pie tin)
- (1) Bag of Quikrete (5 parts concrete, 1 part water)
- Screen or hardware cloth
- Colored stones, jewels, dried leaves, etc. to decorate
- Gloves
- Safety glasses
- Piece of plastic for your work area
