Free Days in Denver

The Denver Botanic Gardens were formed in 1951 by the Denver government and in 1952 100 acres were designated for the Botanic Gardens. From its’ infancy the Botanic Gardens of Denver set themselves apart from other Botanic Gardens by being the first Botanic Garden to promote and emphasize the use of native plants. Also, the Denver Botanic Gardens were the first Botanic Garden in the country to promote environmentally responsible practices. Today, the Denver Botanic Gardens stand as a beacon for the promotion of environmentally responsible practices and natural resource conservation.

On select days throughout the year the Denver Botanic Gardens hosts free days, where entry to the gardens is free of charge. The Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield also has free days. On Monday, August 4th the Denver Botanic Gardens has a no entry fee day and on Tuesday, August 5th the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield has a no entry fee day. The Botanic Gardens encourages everyone of all ages to attend. However, the free days are only for Colorado residents, be aware of this if you are planning to bring out of state guests. The normal entry fee for adults is $15, $9 for children between the ages of 3 and 15, and $12 for students and seniors. The Denver Botanic Gardens is located at 1007 York Street in Denver.
