Award-Winning Landscapes Offer Glimpse of Spring Thaw

Colorado’s top landscape industry association, the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado (ALCC), recently honored four Littleton/Centennial-based landscape contractors and three innovative landscapes in Littleton and Centennial.

Colorado’s landscape professionals were recognized for creating the beautiful landscapes found at homes and businesses throughout the state at ALCC’s 2006 Excellence in Landscape Awards banquet held January 24, 2007 at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts – Seawell Ballroom. ALCC’s Excellence in Landscape Awards competition is the only program of its kind in Colorado. These annual awards showcase unique landscapes across the state that are designed, constructed, irrigated, renovated and maintained by ALCC members.

“These winning landscapes – provide an exciting preview of the state’s landscaping trends for the year ahead,” said Kristen Fefes, ALCC executive director. Categories ranged from Xeriscape and landscape construction to renovation, water features, special areas, maintenance, design/build, wall construction and use of color with annuals and perennials. A record-number 136 entries were submitted for this year’s awards and more than 400 guests attended the awards banquet.

With more than 700 members across the state, the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado is the premier professional organization for Colorado’s landscape contractors. ALCC has been at the forefront for more than 40 years helping Colorado’s landscape industry address Colorado’s unique climate and promoting responsible use of water and other natural resources.
