Horticulture & Landscape Architecture Career Day at CSU

Just wanted to take a moment today to reach out and thank everyone that participated in the Horticulture & Landscape Architecture (http://www.hla.colostate.edu/) Career Day at Colorado State University on Wednesday.

We really enjoyed talking to some really great candidates for positions we have open at Designscapes Colorado.  Colorado State University has always been one of the foremost leaders in educating the leaders for the Green Industry.  As a CSU graduate myself, I am always so thrilled to return to campus and to see some of my former professors and staff.  A special thank you to Dr. Klett and Dr. Wallner for always making Designscapes Colorado feel welcome and proud to be a supporter and contributor to making CSU a leading educational institution!

Additionally, I’d like to thank the following for sponsoring the luncheon by the Green Industry organizations:

Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado (ALCC)

Colorado Association of Lawn Care Professionals

Colorado Nursery and Greenhouse Association

Garden Centers of Colorado

International Society of Arboriculture – Rocky Mountain Chapter

Rocky Mountain Golf Course Superintendent Association

Rocky Mountain Sod Growers Association

Rocky Mountain Regional Turfgrass Assocation

The Career Day for Landscape Architecture and Horticulture students at CSU has been combined into a larger Career Fair called the Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources Spring Career Fair in order to create more interest and to draw a larger student pool.  This was a wonderful idea!

I believe the students that came to talk to us this year were very well prepared: they were dressed appropriately, well spoken and had a current resume in hand.  I know that these students are on the path to success and want to thank all of them for doing their research and had looked at our website (designscapescolorado.com) before coming to talk to us about our wonderful company and the positions we have open.  Looking forward to returning next February for the Career Fair again!

Go Rams!
