This Cherry Hills residence provides a great example of implementing all of the best management practices through its structured, formal gardens surrounding the home.

The Boxwood hedges surround the home to create immaculate lines enhancing the architecture of the home. Proper watering, fertilizer and routine trimmings ensure the uniform.

Front annual beds and cast iron pots flock the front entry with bright colors and different textures of flowers to create the welcoming feeling to all guests. Annual pots are scattered around the back patio to soften the large patio area and provide a beautiful backdrop to a quiet evening outside. The irrigation is monitored by a separate zone specifically for the annuals due to their need for individualized watering requirements.

The home is surrounded by a large canvas of deep green Kentucky Bluegrass. The maintenance program includes aerification, fertilization, broadleaf control, irrigation monitoring and weekly mowing/edging to keep the turf in its flawless condition. Proper irrigation is necessary to continue the deep, rich color of the bluegrass as over-watering can fade that color. Mowing height of 2 ½” is used to decrease the amount of water and nutrients the turf needs by increasing its natural ability to obtain correct ingredients to promote its health.

Perennials and Roses enclose the property and provide color to brighten the landscape. The large perennial beds are monitored bi-weekly to remove all spent blooms for promote new flowers and remove any weeds in the area. Organic small fiber mulch is added in each perennial bed to decrease the weed population and insulate the plants by trapping in moisture and essential nutrients. The roses are routinely monitored for aphid damage. If detected, an organic soapicide is used to control the situation without disturbing the plant growth.

From hedging to dead-heading and mowing to edging, the different components of this landscape fulfill our well established maintenance program.
